Welcome to Rock Rapids, Iowa
Featuring 36 murals around town, it’s no wonder why Rock Rapids may be known to some as the City of Murals. The murals paint stories of the city’s history; you will find scenes of the old train depot, war memorials, and a tribute of a successful local cattle buyer, as well as more recent history, such as the flooding in 2014.
Rock Rapids also holds a Heritage Days Celebration each year where activities include horseshoe pitching, canoe races, flea market, road race, all-school reunion, car show and much more. This history-appreciative community takes just as much pride in their active lifestyle; the town features seven parks, skate park, museum and campgrounds – whether young or young at heart, Rock Rapids provides much to enjoy and experience.
